Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

They forage for carpenter ants and beetle larvae by drilling rectangular holes in trees. They may also consume berries, fruits and nuts.
This male adult Pileated Woodpecker climbing on a tree in the forest was photographed in Marshlands Conservancy, Rye, New York on 4-30-2017. Marshlands Conservancy is a 173 acre wildlife sanctuary with varied terrain including salt marsh, meadow, forest and shorel...

I've had the honor of my bird photos recognized in prestigious competitions including "The Top One Hundred" of the Audubon Photo Contest, the "Honored Top 40" of the Nature's Best Backyards Photography Contest, and included in the "Nature's Witness" exhibition of 47 nature photographs (selected from 22,000 entries to the National Wildlife...
