Description
The name of the plant comes from the Greek word "floco", which means "flame". Phlox - this is the name given to the plant in 1737 by Carl Linnaeus for the red color of flowers in ancestral forms. But although the Greek name was given to phloxes, they were brought from America in the 18th century. Annual phlox is from Texas, perennial phlox is from Canada.
According to legend, Odysseus and the sailors, descending into the underworld of Hades, held flickering torches in their hands, which illuminated their path. When they got out of the dungeon, they threw the torches on the ground. They sprouted and turned into phlox flowers in memory of the brave Odysseus. Only the god of love Eros, the secret guardian angel of the legendary hero, quietly following Odysseus, did not part with his torch. Tired of a long journey, Eros dozed off on the bank of a stream. At this time, the nymph stole a torch and extinguished it in the waters of the source, which immediately boiled, lit up and gained a magical gift to heal the sick and infirm. As a fan of experiments, I combine different techniques, there are more than 10 of them. None of my work can be repeated and copied, including by me, because chance plays a big role here.
