Description
Parrot Tulips, an oil painting of beautiful red parrot tulips. They come from bulbs, which are mostly imported here to the U.S. from Holland. Few garden
plants can compare to the tulip for the array of colors and beauty that they
bring to the Spring garden. .........There are thousands of different varities ....grown in Holland, to offer the most beautiful and best performers to residents of the USA....The tulip bulb is planted in the fall because it requires a period of
several weeks of cold temperature in winter to initiate a flower for spring. If you live in an area of the country with milder winter temperatures that do
not go below 45 degrees or lower for six weeks, your tulip bulbs will perform
best if they are pre-cooled in the refrigerator.
Tulips require several hours of direct sunlight during the spring to perform best
and product full sized flowers. However, they do perform very well in areas
of the garden under deciduous trees that have not developed their leaf
canopy in the spring....Tulips look best when they are planted in mass to
create color impact. Avoid planting bulbs in single straight rows which tends to dimish this impact. Tulips are extremely versitile and can be planted in
containers, around shrubs and trees and amongst perennial plantings...
Plant them anywhere that a splash of early season color will be appreciated
after a long winter..
I hope that when you see this painting it will give a hope of spring to come
and a joy for all that nature provides for us.
