The Palm Warbler (Dendroica palmarum) is a warbler that nests in coniferous bogs, and forages on weedy or grassy open ground mostly for insects and sometimes for berries. It is fairly small, measuring about 5.5 inches in length and about 0.36 ounces in weight. The adult male in breeding plumage typically has a rufous crown and also streaks on its breast, yellow supercillium, breast, neck, abdomen and rump.

This adult male Palm Warbler in breeding plumage was foraging for insects on weedy open ground in Selleck's Woods, Darien, Connecticut on 5-10-2017. I used a Nikon D810 camera body and a Nikon 500mm f/4 VR2 lens to capture this image.
