Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
This is Donhwamun, the main palace gate of Changdeokgung in Seoul, South Korea. Built in 1412, Donhwamun has a two-story pavilion-type wooden structure, and is the largest of all palace gates. It is perhaps the also the most beautiful of the main palace gates, showing a beautiful view of the mountains beyond through the entryway. Donhwamun was burned down during the Japanese invasion of 1592 and was restored in 1608. This is the oldest palace main gate existing in Korea. The name Donhwa mean "Great virtue teaches people and influences them to be warm-hearted". The palace, Changdeokgung (literally, "Prospering Virtue Palace") is set within a large park.. It is one of the "Five Grand Palaces", built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). Changdeokgung was the most favored palace of many Joseon princes and retained many elements dating from the Three Kingdoms of Korea period.
