For Decades we have been riding the California Coast, Santa Barbara is one of our favorite destinations. Half a dozen times we have taken the Amtrak Coastliner, from Orange County to Portland Oregon. We have seen many Views along the coast, but this one was only visible from the Coastliner, so it was impossible to get a good photo.except from amtrac
During all the trips of course had my camera..

Each time we made this trip, wanted to paint it. But being busy with life and work, never did get the time. Then for years forgot all about it. One day we were talking about the trips we made on the Coastliner, and the memory popped into my mind.
Always loved the lines and colors which may have been enhanced by the tinted windows, but decided to paint what I remembered.....

Santa Barbara has a heavy tourism, industry which includes several excellent Wineries. Then of course there is swimming, sailing, and surfing at this destination. But the waves can vary from day to day, but there is a lot of other recreation to keep you busy having a good time. The beaches are phenomenal all along the coast and the Channel Islands. Especially good are the beaches around Goleta and Gaviota some even consider the area an ethereal paradise....
