This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Black and white photograph of a trickle of water falling from a bamboo pipe into a water trough in a Japanese garden, creating ripples on the surface of the water. Three water scoops rest across the trough, for visitors to scoop water onto their hands in a purification ritual. In the background there is a garden of bellflowers interspersed with small stone o-jizo statues. The feeling of the image is serene and peaceful.
This photograph was taken at Gango-ji in Nara. It is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Japan. O-mizu means water.

I was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1960. As a child, I was always drawing or painting pictures. After I moved to Japan in 2003, I began to take a lot of photographs. To share them more easily with family and friends I started to post them on Facebook, and was encouraged by the number of people who seemed to enjoy them. Now my Facebook page Japan in Pictures has almost five thousand followers from more than twenty different countries around the world, so I decided to make some of my best images available as cards and prints. I think my best images capture something of the way I see and feel about Japan... I love it actually. I'm continually fascinated and charmed by the landscape, the history, and the beauty that surrounds...
