What an enchanting expression of the strong bonds and feelings between horses. When our mare Candy died at age 32, our gelding Paycheck (age 31) was confused and lost without her, even though he still had the rest of his herd around him. They had been together for decades, and he was her protector and she was his leader. This gorgeous and masterfully rendered painting expresses so beautifully this love between equines. fav
