Description
This lighthouse scene is of the North Head Lighthouse in Washington. The building rests on a rock formation located on the edge of the Columbia River and the Ocean. The weather in the northern part of the Pacific coast is often misty and overcast. The gray-blue color scheme of the painting blended with cool lights creates the right atmosphere of this coastal area. The landscape has been changed to make space for the movement of the sea. Adding rolling waves and the sparkling foam brings life to the seascape. That is the reason that I often sacrifice accuracy for the sake of a better composition.

Gorgeous painting, Regina! I love how you put so much detail in the water, and how you incorporated so many various subtle colors into the composition.
