Photo of a cathedral in La Plaza de Armas in Arequipa, Peru. An interesting fact about this cathedral is that it was supposed to be built in Mexico City. When the Spanish government decided to build cathedral in Mexico City and in Arequipa, Peru, the plans were somehow mixed up and Arequipa received the larger more grand cathedral even though it was a much smaller city than Mexico City at that time. It is absolutely a beautiful example of Colonial Cathedrals in South America.
