Description
Mummy cover of Panehesy. Panehesy was Chief Servitor of the Aten, in Akhetaten (modern Amarna, Egypt). The ancient Egyptian city of Akhetaten was built by the Pharaoh Akhenaten of the late Eighteenth Dynasty (1550-1292 BC). Akhetaten translates literally as the Horizon of the Aten" where Aten, the disc of the Sun, was the only deity (and perhaps the first monotheistic religion). Photographed at Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (National Museum of Antiquities) in Leiden, the Netherlands."
