A Mountain lions carries it precious kitten by mouth. Baby cougars are called cubs or kittens and remain with their mother for up to the first two years of their lives. The cougar (Puma concolor), also known as the puma, mountain lion, panther, or catamount, is a largest cat of the family Felidae native to the America. Mountain lion mothers carry their young in their mouths when they are newborns to move them from place to place, and to protect them because they are fragile. The babies are born with thier eyes and ears closed. If the mother feels any threat at all it will move them to an alternate site. Mountain lion kittens weigh about eighteen ounces.
