Description
On a trip to cut a Christmas tree in Northern California, my son-in-law, grandson and I came to a clearing near Humboldt Peak in Butte County and beheld this site. Mount Lassen lies in Shasta County about 24 miles away. Presently standing at an elevation of 10,463, Mount Lassen last erupted in 1917. We found a tree just a few feet away. Some days are exceptional.
