Description
I took a little walk from our camp site one morning along the Salmon river and found this wonderful image looking at the Sawtooth Range.
The Sawtooth Mountain Range is part of the Rocky Mountains located a few miles south of Stanley, Idaho and approximately 65 miles north of Sun Valley, Idaho. The majority of the mountain range is within the Sawtooth Wilderness. Stanley's vibrant and welcoming community offers the traveling visitor a true Rocky Mountain experience with a variety of Lodging, Restaurants, Shops, Outfitters and other services.
Stanley is a city in Custer County, Idaho, United States. The population was 63 at the 2010 census; down from 100 in 2000. The center of population of Idaho in 2000 was located in Stanley.
Stanley, Idaho is a true Rocky Mountain town located in the pristine wilderness of central Idaho. Gateway to the Sawtooth Mountains, Frank Church Wilderness, and the famous Salmon River of No Return, Stanley is a recreation mecca for biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, horseback trail rides, hunting, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, exploring and more.
This picturesque community, squeezed between the Salmon River of No Return and the Sawtooth Mountains, is often referred to as the American Alps. The towering Sawtooth Mountains arguably create the most impressive skyline in the west.
The Sawtooth Mountains of Central Idaho dominate the landscape and surround the little mountain town of Stanley, Idaho. The Sawtooth Mountains include more than forty high peaks that reach for the sky at a height of more than 10,000 feet. Nestled in the glacier basins of these mountains are more than 300 pristine, alpine lakes. In this area, which provides a glimpse of what the western land must have been like in the beginning of the last century, the summer visitor can enjoy many miles of wilderness wonderland. The area is known worldwide as one of the most pristine, scenic mountain regions, which is fairly accessible to the common person.

The effect of the morning light has brought out lovely color tones that work so well together. The composition work beautifully to give one the feeling that this river runs of forever, I like the balance in the height of the trees one either side of the water.
Robert Bales replied:
Yes Mother Nature sure produced wonderful lighting that morning and thanks for looking and great comments.

Beautiful! Looks half painting and half photograph. Nice!
Robert Bales replied:
Thanks Crystal for the nice comment and I think the morning light has something to do with the softness.
