Description
The islet of Mokolii, or Chinaman’s Hat, is a rugged little outpost off of the North Shore of Oahu. It’s home to wedge-tailed shearwaters and is occasionally explored by adventurous visitors. It got the name "Chinaman's Hat" from its resemblance to the traditional conical hat worn by many Chinese working in the cane fields of old Hawaii. A local artist has a famous drawing of an old Chinese man below the surface of the water and only his hat is showing above the water.
