Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Met Office forecasting conference. Daily conference at the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. Forecaster John Harding (pointing at charts) is briefing senior scientists. The others present (left to right) are: unknown, C. L. Hawson, Robert A. S. Ratcliffe (seen full length to right of Harding), John Stanley Sawyer (1916-2000), Sidney P. Peters, Reginald Cockcroft Sutcliffe (1904-1991), Ernest George Bilham (born 1891, closest to camera), and two unknown. Sutcliffe and Sawyer were Fellows of the Royal Society. Sutcliffe retired in 1965. Harding worked at the Met Office from 1936 to 1973.
