Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Martial eagle is one of 6 different species of eagles I saw on my African Safari. They are the only member of the genus Polemaetus. It is a species of the booted eagle subfamily Aquilinae. It has feathers that go down its leg and toes. It is one of the largest and most power species of booted eagle. Like most eagles it is an opportunistic hunter. It will pray on mammals, birds and even reptiles. This eagle has been in decline due to its persecution by humans. It is currently listed as endangered. I did not see any on my second trip to Africa. Their wingspan can be from 6 to 7 feet wide. They are grey with white chests that have grey spots on it.
I became interested in photography when I got my first film camera when I was 10. I became very passionate about outdoor/wildlife photography after my first camping trip to Yellowstone National Park. I camped in Henry's Lake State Park and that is where I took the photo of the moose twins. I was hooked. The following year I entered the photo into the National Wildlife Federation contest where they became a runner up in their annual calendar. I love showing that you can ethically take photos of animals. No baiting, no harassment, just taking in their view of the world and putting it in your lens. I am adding photos regularly.
