Hi Mary Myers - I was visiting near Lynden, Washington when I saw this sight. I'm not sure where the swans migrate from, but I do know they stay there for several months. I was so impressed when I saw these birds I had the people I was with stop the car on a side road so I could get out with my camera. Thankfully I know good people, and they waited for the 15 or 20 minutes I needed to take shots from many angles - and then the birds got in a line and walked away! This was one of my last images. I truly was blessed.

You are truly blessed to have access to so many Trumpeter swans. Are they Alaskan birds that stay for several months with you? How many photographers can count more than two birds on their takes. My eyes are old but it looks like about 30 birds in this photo!!! Very rare catch. You were in the right place for a marvelous opportunity. Enjoy and thank you for sharing.

Mary Lee, while I have heard of having one's ducks in a row, this is quite unique as it looks choreographed for Swan Lake! LOLIt is a pleasure to see so much variety and beauty in the works that are submitted for FEATURING on our WFS site. It is an honor to FEATURE this piece of work on our Homepage of our site. Thanks for sharing and being active in our group membership. Liked Forever, Elvis

Mary Lee Dereske replied:

Thanks Randy; I love the analogy to "ducks in a row"! That was witty!
