Mandy was my brother's dog and one of the best bird dogs I've ever hunted over. She loved me; my sister-in-law claimed that Mandy somehow sensed me coming on visits, minutes and blocks away from their house, and would jump all over waiting for me to get there. Pick up a shotgun, and she would get hysterical and run to the door waiting for the ride. Say 'bird' and she yipped and yelped, her whole body wagging. She was an angel wrapped in dog attire.
