A vintage movie poster reproduction of ''Mad Love'', a 1935 American horror film directed by Karl Freund and starring Peter Lorre in one of his most memorable roles. The film is based on the 1920 novel "The Hands of Orlac" by Maurice Renard and is known for its macabre themes, disturbing imagery, and Lorre's compelling performance.
The story centers around Dr. Gogol, played by Peter Lorre, a brilliant but eccentric surgeon who becomes obsessed with an actress named Yvonne Orlac, portrayed by Frances Drake. After Yvonne's husband, Stephen Orlac, played by Colin Clive, a concert pianist, loses his hands in a train accident, Dr. Gogol performs a groundbreaking surgery to transplant new hands onto him. However, Stephen begins to suspect that his new hands may have once belonged to a murderer, and he becomes tormented by dark impulses and hallucinations.
