This photo was taken near Darling, a small town on the West Coast of Cape Town, South Africa. We were having a wonderful picnic in the middle of a field of Calla Lilies with a lone tree on a warm spring day. Calla Lilies, called Arum Lilies here, are wild flowers that grow in damp areas throughout the Cape, bringing a heavenly sense of beauty.

Thanks so much, Randy! It is indeed magical to see fields of Calla Lilies! In Chicago, they were so very expensive and here in Cape Town in the Spring they fill every low moist gully and fields. A touch of heaven absolutely!
