one of a series of nature oil pastel works on paper

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I remember entering a drawing and coloring contest once in the city newspaper when I was in the second grade. I actually won the contest and got tickets for two to the circus. In college I minored in Studio Art but didn't take art serious until years later. Art had always been a passion but I always drew and painted for the personal pleasure it gave me growing up. I eventually came back to it around 1998 when I met a group of artist friends. Then again 2003/2004 and finally in 2012 when i met another artist who became a good friend. I've taken a break from art since 2015 to pursue my other passion - music, but am planning to pick it up again now in 2019.
