Description
This is an exceptional work, by the artist, one of the proponents of the surrealism movement. Created in 1939, a year in which Dalí debuted his Dream of Venus surrealist pavilion, located in the Amusements Area of the exposition. It featured bizarre sculptures, statues, and live nude models in "costumes" made of fresh seafood, an event photographed by Horst P. Horst, George Platt Lynes and Murray Korman. This artwork responds to the characteristic hand of Dalí on that date - in reference to a bizarre scene, with a curve marking the movement of the figure, complemented with magnificent expression of the colors of both figures present at the composition and the background in which the shadow if the main figure is projected with devil horns, hunting the dual personality of the principal figure. These are the kind of magical compositions that Dalí created, adapting the real world or a history to his own surreal standards, making this artwork an exceptional one.
