This eastern coyote turned to glance back at me before he headed off on his way. It seems almost as if he knew that was a camera I had in my hands.

It is SO BEAUTIFUL! I didn't know that there was an Eastern Coyote! And it looks so very different from the one's here! I would have guessed that it was part wolf, part Huskie. Really gorgeous creature! And your photo capture was wonderful; what a poser he is! He looks like he's smiling, even. F & V

Thanks Peri, and your guess of part wolf and huskie is not too far off! From what I have read they interbred with wolves and probably some feral dogs on their migration east. They really do have a different appearance than the coyotes of the west. Thanks for commenting and the F

Thanks Jeffrey, they really are hard to get a shot of, I was lucky the wind was blowing my way and he was intent on a herd of deer that had been there minutes before!

You can tell patience went into this. Amazing and fine capture from one lone wolf to another.

Susan this is a classic! Pose, colors, the richness of the coyotes winter coat. Outstanding photography. V/F/SU
