Artist's Description
The cement ship is a local legend, serving the Rio Del Mar Community for decades. Commissioned at the end of WWI, the war ended before it saw duty so was moved to be a wave break - entertainment center, and was a club with dancing and dining until the hull cracked in a storm a few decades ago. It rides lower after each winter, with the severe storms of 2017 breaking it in half. I'm documenting its departure, to help everyone remember how well and how long it served.
