Description
Kobls Restaurant is no longer in business in the CBD of New Orleans.
Here is the website for it. In it you will see the sign was in place for more than 75 years.
(http://old-new-orleans.com/NO_Kolbs.html) From the website is the following info about Kolbs. Kolb's Restaurant, on St. Charles near Canal Street, opened in 1899. Although the restaurant featured a variety of dishes, it's specialty was German food. The main dining room was reminiscent of a German tavern, while one side of the restaurant had Dutch decor, complete with fireplaces and chimneys. At night, a Tyrolean orchestra played while the crowd sang old folk songs. The restaurant was owned by Conrad Kolb, who owned a number of farms, most in St. Charles Parish, where the vegetables for the restaurant were grown.
