Realistic Digital Freehand Painting of a Lion on Scanned Natural Drawing Paper. This work has taken me weeks to complete as the fur alone was a major difficulty, but despite all that, I wanted to depict this Lion, the King Of The Wilderness in a warm light, both physically an emotionally.

I kept to a very limited palette of colors but varied the tones enormously drawing on my oil painting skills of human faces. The lion faces into the light, and the back of his is softly airbrushed into richer and warmer tones.

I don't think there are many people who don't love the appearance of the King Of the Jungle in all the various forms artists elect to present them. Such mangnificent creatures deserve our attention to their inner being as well as their fantastic appearance.
