Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) are fairly common and widespread in the United States, and often found in small flocks on shores, meadows, wetlands, and in coastal open fields. Their double black breast bands, orange eye ring, and tawny orange rumps are very distinctive. They are medium-sized plovers, measuring about 10.5 inches in length and about 3.3 ounces in weight. They commonly feed on insects.
This Killdeer foraging in shallow water at the Cora Island Unit of the Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, in West Alton, Missouri on 7-28-2020. I used a Nikon D850 camera body and a Nikon 500mm f/5.6 VR PF lens to capture this image. Settings: 1/2000 sec, f/6.3, ISO 800.
I am honored that my photograph was featured in the Fine Art America groups:
