However, having lived next door to a ranch that raised peacocks, I know them to be more like an oil slick on a puddle of water. The colors shimmer and change with every turn or breeze that blows. The deceptive beauty of an oil slick hides its toxicity, and the deceptive beauty of the peacock hides its toxic temperment.
