In the United States, corporatism has grown like a poisonous weed choking off the bonds that connect people to people. The value of public education and health care has come under attack. Government and polices are now paid for commodities - with a price tag too high for the common person. The power of voters has been usurped by lobbyists. The government of the people is obsolete. A government of corporations rules without public consent. Failing corporations are bailed out, but people are expendable. The business of serving people has been replaced by the servants of business. The soul of a nation has been squandered by soulless corporations that lust only for more power and money. The corporation cares nothing about the individual pursuit of happiness. The constitution is a meaningless document challenged by the whims of corporate America. The education of children, the welfare of the disabled, civil rights, relief for the sick, the care for the aging, the opportunity for the under-employed and the unemployed, do not matter to the advancement of the corporation. Fair wages and livable wages are irrelevant concepts in their new world order. One percent of the population rules the nation calculating the quickest way to turn a profit - cost what it may to the human condition or the environment. The consequence of unprincipled corporate lust in America is one that is rapidly devouring the belief in the basic concept: justice for all. Tyranny always teaches the same lesson: there is no justice without caring for others. ~ Spadecaller
