The full title is InDwelling: The Black Madonna as the Shechinah, Binah and
the Empress card of the Major Arcana

I can guarantee that this was an odd assignment for a Jewish woman to receive. As I was working on it, however, I saw that there were words that needed to be inscribed and a heard a melody with this Hebrew text from Exodus 25:8 -
" V'asu li mikdash v'shachanti b'tocham"
"Make me a space that is holy and I will dwell within (each of) you."

At that point I was completely at ease with the symbolism as an expression of the Shechina - the symbolic feminine In Dwelling essence of Divinity and another name for Mother Earth.

The Hebrew letter BET is in the center of the lute rose heart/belly, representing the essence of "Binah", the ever-pregnant divine emanation where Wisdom incubates.

Binah is the third s'firah (emination) of the Tree of Life in the Hebraic mystical tradition. In the tarot deck it translates as the Empress...
