Description
A huge old and rusty diesel engine used as a generator and a couple old buildings on the Independence Mine site with the mountains of Alaska in the background. The independence Mine is located on what is called "Hatchers Pass" outside of Wasilla Alaska. During its peak there were more than 200 workers here digging and blasting for gold. More than 140,000 ounces of gold were found here before the mine was shut down as WW II broke out.
