Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

In The Shadow of The Doges Palace Venice - Venice has to be one of the most magical cities in the world. Steeped in history, atmosphere and colorful character, it is truly the stuff of dreams. Palatial palazzo's flank either side of the Grand Canal, the emerald green water glistening jewel like as it winds it's way through this mystical maze. Fine details are everywhere, from the elaborate, vintage, red tinted street lamps, to the ornate facade of the Doge's Palace, pictured here. A gothic masterpiece with origins dating back to the 14th Century, this striking landmark building is both unmissable and unforgettable.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
