A vintage movie poster of ''In Name Only'', a 1939 American romantic drama film directed by John Cromwell and starring Cary Grant and Carole Lombard. The film is notable for its portrayal of a complex love triangle and the performances of its two leading stars.
The story of "In Name Only" revolves around Alec Walker, played by Cary Grant, a wealthy and unhappily married man who wants to divorce his manipulative and controlling wife, Maida, portrayed by Kay Francis. However, due to societal pressures and Maida's conniving ways, Alec is unable to secure a divorce.
Alec meets Julie Eden, played by Carole Lombard, a young and kind widow with a young daughter. The two fall in love, but their romance is complicated by Alec's existing marriage and Maida's determination to hold onto him.
