Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The film is based on the autobiography of Robert E. Burns and is known for its powerful social commentary and indictment of the brutal and inhumane conditions in the American penal system.
The story follows James Allen, played by Paul Muni, a World War I veteran who becomes disillusioned with society upon his return to civilian life. Unemployed and desperate, he becomes involved in a robbery, but he is wrongly convicted of the crime. James is sentenced to a brutal and oppressive chain gang in the deep South, where he experiences dehumanizing treatment, harsh labor, and unbearable living conditions.
