Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

A Hooded Warbler feeding an immature Cowbird in a garden in Summers County, West Virginia. Brown-headed Cowbirds lay eggs in many Hooded Warbler nests (up to 75% in some areas).
The Hooded Warbler is considered vulnerable because it is often parasitized by cowbirds, especially where forest is broken up into small patches, and because it favors undergrowth of tropical forest for wintering.
Photography, to me, involves seeing the light and capturing the moment: the colorful illumination in the sky just before sunrise; bright sunlight dancing on the bubbling current, the glint in the eye of a mockingbird, soft reflected light caressing the face of a child, the dynamic reflection of the setting sun on the beach. That is a great capture Jurgen...I have been a bird watcher for almost fifty years and have never made this observation although also being a biologist I know the Cowbird is a parasitic species.
