Homage to Eliot II was made shortly after my mentor, Eliot Porter, died in 1990. Eliot is considered one of the greatest photographers on the 20th Century, and a pioneer in environmental awareness through his photography. This image is one of several in a series dedicated to his incredible eye for detail in nature. Though he was also exceptional in photographing the grand natural vistas of America, Eliot was especially gifted at seeing the beauty of our world at his feet.
