Holding on to an Idea Revisited

Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
The owner of my "Holding on to an Idea" painting had an unfortunate incident that resulted in the loss of the original work. Upon his request, I created a similar piece to the original. However, this version simplifies the background a little bit, replaces the original lightbulb with an Edison-style bulb, vintage fixture, and vintage-style cloth-covered wire. I think it better represents the title and the concept of the first version of the painting. This original piece is 14" x 10" in size and is painted with a combination of Rublev and Daniel and Smith watercolor paints on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper.

Very nice replacement, Ken. Yeah, it must feel a bit strange to go back to your older style. It's one that drew me to your work in the first place.

Thank you Marsha! This one ended up bordering on illustrative in style but I still really like it. Fun stuff!

Thank you very much! I don't paint in this style much anymore so it was fun to experiment a bit.
