In what seems to be a great attention to detail, a snow monkey grooms the face of another monkey in a heated pool during a light snow in winter at Jigokudani Yaen-Koen, the Snow Monkey Park, in the Nagano prefecture of Japan. The park is an area of natural hot springs with a man-made pool where Japanese Macaque monkeys take refuge from the winter cold by bathing in the warm water. Visiting the park was one of the great highlights of my trip to Japan.
