Such a beautiful child and you caught her and she looks surprised but fine otherwise. What I find truly interesting is how she is holding her dad's (I imagine) fingers and he is not holding her... it's a sense of trust by the adult that he's there to protect her but not hold her as if afraid something could happen to her and I think that will allow her to grow up with a sense of security and that when she is ready, she'll let go instead of oh.. no.. dad is not holding on... what will I do? Does that make sense?

Michel Verhoef replied:

Yes, it makes sense and your brain works perfectly...lol...it was during a wedding of the ex wife of my brother and she is the daughter of her brother, who is the father.....haha....that defenitely is a brain teaser !!

This is such a beautiful capture, Michel.... Her eyes tell everything about innocence, trust, illusion, tenderness....and her gesture and her holding hand enhance all these emotions. Another captivating masterpiece!

Lilliana Mendez

Wonderful Candid Portrait of this little girl. I truly believe that the best captures are when the subject is unaware of being photographed and doesn't morph into what they would like you to see, but as they are.

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks Lilliana ! She was very aware of being photographed (normally they don't) so...I still I hope you like it :)

Whenever you might cast a doubt about eyes couldnīt talk...you should see this face! There is a "heavy book" in this facial expression! Very charming and great expressional portrait work.

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks she was probably intimidated by the guy with his camera, and luckily she could cling onto her father that did marry again that day....lol

About my name Michel, no it is not an abbreviation. I live in Sweden, there is Gun a common girls name. I know it sounds odd for english speaking people :-)
