Description
I saw a herd of highland cattle in a pasture near Glencoe, in the Highlands of Scotland, and this one wandered close enough to the fence where I was standing for me to focus closely on its eye and fur around the eye.
Highland cows are Scotland icons. Often called hairy coos, the breed has a heritage stretching back to the days of the clans. They originated in the Highlands and Outer Hebrides islands and are mainly raised for beef. Their distinguishing features are their long horns and long, wavy, woolly coats.
