Description
A White-tailed doe around a year old is partially taking cover in a thicket surrounded with dense bushes and trees that borders a clearing covered with grass! She is trying to decide whether she wants to come out or not, so that is why I thought of the title: "Hello There! I Am Shy!"
White-tailed deer get their name from their tail, which is fringed with white and has a white underside. This is barely seen unless the deer is running or disturbed, at which point the bushy tail (some call it a "flag") flips up and curls forward, exposing the white hair. The tail is around 10 inches long. Their hair is reddish brown and quite short!
This would be the perfect subject for Christmas cards, if you added some snow in this scene! Stay tuned for a future work in this for a winter scene!

Thank you, my dear Tessa! She is definitely a gentle and sweet creature! I always enjoy seeing deer out where I live, but they dart across the clearing in front of the woods so fast! This doe wasn't in a hurry just yet...she was still exploring! Thanks for your kind comments and your support!

Thank you, Cristina! This was captured from my deck that overlooks some woods with a clearing covered in grass...perfect for deer! I love these White-tailed deer! I think that this would make a pretty Christmas card, especially, if I digitally altered it in another version to show it snowing!
