Hawaiian Mandala II - BIRD OF PARADISE
Artist
Diane Thornton
Medium
Painting - Watercolor & Ink
Description
The second in a series of geometric images with a Hawaiian theme, reminiscent of the Buddhist or Hindu mandala. Mandalas symbolize balance and here we see the balance of island life: fire, water, tropical plants, bird of paradise, ferns, pineapple, sunshine, water life. In the center is the gecko, a common sight in the islands. Looks great in a white mat and simple black frame, and if you order your prints on watercolor paper, it has the look of an original watercolor.
