Harvesting Green Melons in Thiva, Greece. Honeydew melons are popular as desserts. Its smooth skin has a pale green color that will turn into yellowish green when it is ripe. The honeydew melon, also known as a honeymelon, is the fruit of one cultivar group of the muskmelon, Cucumis melo in the gourd family. The Inodorus group includes honeydew, crenshaw, casaba, and other mixed melons. Honeydew and cantaloupe are members of the C. melo species. They contain many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and may benefit your health by reducing inflammation and oxidative damage and by alleviating damage from sun exposure.
