This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
A grizzly, or brown bear, approaches with little concern for my presence. The bear was moving between berry patches and had no time for distractions from a mere human. Winter was right around the corner and adding fat was its sole interest.

A bear slaughtered a male who was hiking with his spouse in Yellowstone Wednesday. The bear will not be trapped or murdered, according to park authorities. The death has brought on concerns about tourism in the park. The proof is here: Man killed by grizzly bear in Yellowstone Park

Is it a female Tim? The Grizzly is so magnificent and the coat is very beautiful :)))) Fabulous work, I love your portfolio :)))
Ron Cline
Tim, this grizzly presented you with the classic bear portrait. I admire the work photographers must go through to capture real wildlife photos in the field, and your captures are awsome. I'm glad this big "teddy" was just browsing for berries and did not consider that Canon 500mm to be a threat!
Thomas Young
Fantastic close up of a Grizzly Tim. I love how you can see his eyes!
Fred Lassmann
Tim, thanks again for your comments on my pictures. You complimented on my eye for urban landscapes, a true compliment for someone from Kansas. I suspect you'd do well in urban environments, if you had any close. I would have commented on this one earlier if I wasn't running away. Wow and I don't care how long the lens is!!!
Tim Grams
I shoot digitial Canon bodies and an assortment of Canon lens. This image was taken with a 1D MII and a 500/4 IS lens.
Patricia Griffin Brett
Oh, one more thing....what kind of camera do you use?
Patricia Griffin Brett

As a child, we went to Yellowstone National Park several times each summer. One of the most fun activities was "Counting the bear". Sometimes we would see 100 or more on the trip around the loop. Mostly, the bear were smaller brown or black bear but once in a great while a grizzly would be visible. Fabulous photography! We can clearly see this bear has a personality and seems to be on a leisurely stroll.
