I loved the card. Message inside was perfect (just like I requested) Only comment - the picture seemed too large for the card (glue showing on the side) Next time I will down size the picture. I have ordered many cards from fineartamerica and have been very pleased with the artist selection and quality of the art. Paul Cutright

I thought the colors could have been a little brighter but I was happy with the product!
This photograph was taken of the Elmwood Plantation ruins in the mid-1990s. It was located just up river from New Orleans on River Road. It burned for the third time in 1978 and the abandoned ruins remained standing for about 20 years. It was finally demolished to make way for a housing development soon after this photograph was taken. Note: This image has been processed using a watercolor filter. It will be more effectively printed on watercolor or somerset velvet paper.

Pictorialism would best describe her current work, stylistically. Cheri has expressed her artistic talents in a variety of ways including; wheel-thrown pottery, quilting, vintage clothing restoration, interior decorative painting and photography. She is a resident of both the Houston Heights and historic New Orleans Uptown. A favorite quote is, "The bird of time has but a little way to flutter - and the bird is on the...

Guy, Thanks for noticing this one. It was a very beautiful place and life has somewhat continued because the beautiful live oak trees remain, but the ruins of the house are gone. Thanks for the v/f!

Wonderful shot. I like the beautiful flowers growing around the disintegrating wall and doorway, as if to say 'life will go on'. A great capture. v/f

My favorite artwork for today 06-09-2012 in the group Female Artists - Creative Women!! F/V ...... I really like doors, architectural territories that allow you to enter and exit of worlds, realities, dreams! Yours is really wonderful and I was looking at it a long time because it was a great boost to my imagination! Great capture!!
Cheri Randolph replied:
Madelina, thanks so much for selecting "Ghost Near the River" as your choice today. This image is so special because of the haunting nature of the ruins of a beautiful plantation home, which no longer exists. One of the most rewarding sales that I've ever made as an artist was of a canvas print of this image. A couple, who had been married over 45 years, saw it in the gallery, and purchased it because they had celebrated their first wedding anniversary here when Elmwood Plantation was operating as a restaurant. I appreciate your generous comments. Cheri
