This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

This piece (while somewhat disturbing) is intended to display the cautionary tale of fame. The figure in this piece is modeled after film and sex icon Marilyn Monroe. The ball gag in her mouth with the word Fame on it is intended to display several ideas; 1. Fame will prohibit you from speaking your own mind or being yourself, 2. Fame is a fetish among the American people, 3. Fame can kill you. This gag along with the emotion an fear upon the figures face comes across as somewhat disgusting or disturbing but in the end it is a beautiful piece.
About Nick Mantlo-Coots
Nick Mantlo-Coots is an American artist living in Bowling Green Ky where he works in marketing and graphic design. He describes his work as "hipster trash meets Beverly Hills chic" and while this may seem like less than a complement, to him it is an extremely endearing thing. “I always think it’s important to not take anything with my art too seriously. I’m never going to be one of the greats. In part because I paint what I know, and a lot of what I know is useless information”. He draws inspiration from the cities which shaped him and the people he idolizes.
