Description
On our quest for covered bridges near Frederick Maryland, we got sidetracked by barns! Many barns have such great character and have alot of stories to tell! This one was near the Utica Mills Historic Covered Bridge. The light and shadow playing on barn was especially beautiful on this day due to the wind blowing the clouds across the otherwise sunny sky. We spent as much time admiring and photographing this barn as we did on the bridge! From Frederick City, the tour is approximately 33 miles long, roundtrip. Start the tour north of Frederick at the junction of US15 (Catoctin Mountain Highway) and Old Frederick Road. Turn right (east side of US15) onto Old Frederick Road. Drive 1.5 miles and make a left onto Utica Road, to Utica Mills Covered bridge.Just 100 yards past the bridge you will find the barn.

Joan, this is a wonderful reminder of time passed, an era of Americana close to my heart. Your collection of barns is quite nice and I have enjoyed viewing them. l/f
