My hometown of Ayr on the west coast of Scotland used to have a fishing fleet of over 34 boats and was an important source of employment and income to the town. On a recent visit it was obvious those days are over. There was not a sign of any of the fishing boats or fishermen. At one time the Scottish fish processing industry used to be 49% of the UK fishing industry and it’s hard to believe that is another memory of my hometown that has gone.

I first became serious about photography when I took a four year course in industrial design at university where we had to document our design process at every stage of development. The camera was an essential part of the design process. The camera changed my life. I am passionate about all facets of photography.
