The rising sun reflects in the Colorado River as steam comes off the water blazing like fire. This image was captured along the Colorado River in Fruita, Mesa County, Colorado near the old bridge. Taken with a Canon 60D.
The warmer river water is evaporating into the air, the cold air is causing the vapor to condense into a mist. It does the same thing in the summer but the air temps aren't cold enough to cause condensation so the dampened air can't be seen.
